Dewalt Table Saw DW745 Review (2021)

Dewalt DW745 table saw comes with a 15-ampere motor that makes its 10-inch blade reach 3.850 RPM, consequently producing precise cuts. It also has a 20-inch rip capacity, which is great, thanks to its exclusive fence configuration. Moreover, thanks to its fence’s telescoping design, the rail can move out to 20 inches to rip full sheets of material and can be retracted for a compact design that’s easy to transport.

While its miter gauge is not the best thing about it, it is hard to find a better portable table saw at this price range. Its powerful motor, coated table surface, dust port and movable rail make up for the lousy quality of the miter gauge.

“Absolutely delighted with this saw! I had a great old Craftsman table saw for 20 years–solid as can be, but heavy as an anvil. If I had a barn or large workshop to store it in, I would have kept it. But we just have an ordinary garage and I had to store the heavy, cast-iron beast partially disassembled in an inconvenient spot. Which meant that I rarely bothered to pull it out and reassemble it. On most occasions when I really should have used it, I tended to make do with some less appropriate saw just to avoid the hassle. ““This is a great table saw. Have it sitting flush with my workbench so I can run full sheets through it. All of the parts are good quality and haven’t had any malfunctions after 2 months of use. The ONLY complaint I have is there is no easy fitting you can get with a shop vac for dust collection. I understand this is a portable table saw, but come on. There’s got to be an easier way to attach a hose to these dewalt products. And after researching I still haven’t found an adapter that goes with it out of the box. “I love Dewalt and I love this saw. I still have it. It cuts very well, and is high quality, except for… the safety guard and components. I had some tall pieces to cut, so took off the plastic blade guard but left the rip fence guard in place. The rip fence is the curved serrated piece that is positioned just behind the saw blade. The rip fence metal guard attaches to the rip fence and shields it. I made very sure that all guards were firmly secured before starting to saw wood. ……Read Full Review

““This is an excellent saw, but I was forced to return it, and its replacement, for virtually the same problem. After a few days of use, the blade raising and lower mechanism starting grinding and binding, became difficult to turn, not smooth, sudden drops, etc and increasing got worst with each use. Assuming this was a fluke, returned it for a replacement.The replacement worked fine for a couple of days, and then started developing the identical problem.
